The National Heritage Ministry said that the Colombo Museum would reopen to the public from today.

The museum was closed for public recently as a result of the collapse of a museum stairway injuring 36 persons including schoolchildren and teachers.

However sections other than the area where the relevant staircase is, will reopen from today.

National Heritage Minister Jagath Baalasuriya had earlier said that a three-member committee would be appointed for probing the incident.
