Cabinet Sub Committee to investigate Halal issue convens

The Cabinet Sub Committee appointed to investigate the Halal issue convened today under the aegis of its Chairman Senior Minister Rathnasiri Wickremenayeke.


Subsequent to the turbulence created following the Halal issue cabinet appointed the subcommittee which consists of Senior Minister Rathnasiri Wickremeayeke, D.E.W. Gunasekara, Dinesh Gunawardhana, Champika Ranawake, Wimal Weerawansa, Thissa Witharana, Wasudewa Nanayakkara, Rauff Hakeem, A.L.M Athaullah & A.H.M. Fowzie.


However during today’s discussion no decision of significance had been reached.


A member of the subcommittee speaking to our news team noted that once the committee finalizes its report regarding the Halal issue, the government would arrive at a final decision.


Meanwhile Western Provincial Councilor Mujibur Rahuman today responded to a recent statement made by Minister Rauff Hakkem with concern to an attack launched on a clothing store in Pepiliyana.
