A port trade union refuses cargo unloading of Tamil Nadu vessels; ports authority has not made such a decision says Chairman.

The port trade unions have decided to boycott unloading and loading of cargo imported from and exported to Tamil Nadu.


Port Trade Union member Indika Mahesh said that they object to the protests made against Sri Lanka by Tamil Nadu.


Port union federation member Indika Mahesh said further that if the Tamil Nadu protests continue, his trade union federation would resort to these trade union actions in the near future.


Our news team inquired about this from Ports Authority chairman Dr. Priyaatbandu Wickremagey.


The Ports Authority Chairman said that such a decision had not been taken.
