Sudden power failure due to power cut.

It has been revealed that the sudden power failure which was experienced in areas in and around Colombo this morning was due to a power cut.


According to General Manager of the Ceylon Electricity Board Nihal Wickremesooriya glitches at the Norochcholai coal power plant as well as the Kerawalapitiya power plant had led to unanticipated power demands today.


Due to the unexpected power demand a power cut had been affected.


General Manager of the Ceylon Electricity Board Nihal Wickremesooriya speaking to our news team expressed the following views in this regard.
