JVP MP Anura Kumara Dissananayeke addressing a media briefing held in Colombo today stated that a decision would be taken in the near future with regards to pursuant court action concerning the Mathale mass grave.
Presidential Spokesperson Mohan Samaranayeke when contacted by our news team noted that that a Presidential Committee would be appointed to probe the mass grave in Mathale from which remains of over 154 skeletons were recovered intermittently.
A forensic team headed by Professor Raj Somadewa of the Kelaniya University affirmed that the skeletal remains belonged to the 1987-1990 era.
