The Governor of the Central Bank states that the comment stating that the Sri Lanka Central Bank does not come under the purview of the government was made based on a requirement when entering the agreement with the Thompson Advisory Group.

 

Governor of the Central Bank Ajith Nivard Cabraal made this statement while engaging in a special telephone discussion with our news team.

 

The members of the opposition expressed their views in parliament yesterday regarding the agreement made by the Central bank with the Thompson Advisory Group.

 

Speaking at a press conference held today UNP MP Dr. Harsha De Silva stated that this agreement cannot be understood.

 

The following views were expressed by both Dr. Harsha De Silva and Governor of the Central Bank Ajith Nivard Cabraal regarding this.
