US sends wishes for New Year

Sending greetings and best wishes for the Sinhala and Tamil New Year dawning tomorrow, the United States said that it stands ready to support Sri Lanka to make progress on reconciliation and accountability four years after the end of the conflict.


In a statement released yesterday the Secretary of State John Kerry said the New Year celebration brings the hope of new beginnings and fresh promise.


The Secretary's statement said The United States stands ready to partner with Sri Lanka and all Sri Lankans.
