Country prepares to greet dawn of Sinhala and Tamil New Year

Sri Lankans the country over are seen preparing in earnest to greet the dawn of the New Year which will take place at 1.29 tomorrow morning.


The ‘punya kalaya’ or the time to engage in religious activities will take place at 7.05 pm this evening and ends at 7.53 tomorrow morning.


Meanwhile the cooking of meals will take place at the auspicious time of 04.06 am tomorrow while the suspicious time to engage in transactions will take place at 07.05 tomorrow morning.
