United National Party MP Lakshman Kiriella says Sri Lanka is set to lose the membership of the Commonwealth as a resolution was passed against the country by Commonwealth Lawyers.

 

The Commonwealth Lawyers Association yesterday, passed a resolution on Sri Lanka calling for the island to be suspended from the commonwealth over allegations of serious and persistent violations of the Commonwealth fundamental values.

Commenting on the issue Deputy Speaker of parliament Chandima Weerakkody said no such threat has arisen so far.
