UNP to seek court action on electricity tariff hike

The United National Party states that it will seek court action against the hike in electricity tariffs.


Deputy General Secretary of the UNP Dr. Jayalath Jayawardhana expressing his views to our news team noted that a committee headed by a president’s council would take on the case.




Meanwhile Chairman of the Inter- Company Employees Union Wasantha Samarasinghe noted that his union was also prepared to seek court action in this regard.


Although attempts were made to obtain the views of Minister of Power & Energy Pavithra Wanniarachchi our news team was unable to contact her.
