The Police yesterday recovered at a scrap iron shop at Thebuwana a table clock worth about 5 million rupees that had been stolen from the bungalow situated at the Geekiyana-Kande-Watta estate in Kalutara belonging to former Finance Minister Ronnie De Mel.


A certain group had stolen this table clock and an approximately six feet high carvings studded chimney lamp on 15th instant.


A Kalutara Division CID squad recovered this table clock and the chimney lamp at a scrap iron shop in Thebuwana during an investigation.


While four residents of the area were arrested in connection with the incident they are scheduled to be produced at the Matugama Magistrate court today.
