New Indian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka

The Indian High Commission in Sri Lanka confirmed that Y. K. Sinha will be appointed as the new Indian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka.


Upon inquiry by our news team, the media spokesperson of the Indian High Commission Brinder Singh stated that the new high commissioner will take office in the near future.


Meanwhile, The Indian government has cleared the decks to appoint Ashok K Kantha as the new secretary in the ministry of external affairs.


He will be in-charge of East Asia.


Kantha is currently India's high commissioner to Sri Lanka.


His name has been sent for approval to the appointments committee of the Union Cabinet that approves all secretary- level appointments in the government.


Kantha has also served as joint secretary heading the East Asia division in the MEA.
