Concession proposals to the President regarding increased electricity tariffs

The Ministry of Power and Energy in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance have submitted several proposals to the President on how to grant some concessions to electricity consumers.

Power and Energy Ministry Secretary M.M.C.Ferdinando said the officials of the two ministries had lengthy discussions with the President on the issue last several days.

He said that the discussions were focussed on how the proposed concessions would affect the revenue of the Ceylon Electricity Board and the Treasury allocations.
