Mother and child on a fast demanding a school, hospitalised.

The mother and child who had engaged in a fast in front of the Nattandiya Dhammissara Central College in the Putalam District   were admitted to the Marawila Base Hospital last night as they had fallen ill.


Mother named Punyaa Malkaanthi and her 6 year old son named Yasas Lochana began a fast last morning protesting against the failure to have the child admitted to year one.


Subsequently even after hospitalization last night due to illhealth the mother had refused to consume food .
