Further rains forecast for island including Western province.

Rainy weather could be experienced in the Western Province, Galle and Matara districts tomorrow morning as well.


Duty Officer of the Department of Meteorology Jeevan Mendis told our news team that the South Western monsoon in the country are currently activating and the showers are the signs of the incoming monsoon.


He also said the rain could spread to the other parts of the country in the evening tomorrow.




Meanwhile, 3 houses were damaged by rain and wind that had lashed in Akurana in the Kandy district last night.


Deputy Media Director of Disaster Management Center Lal Sarath Kumara said that 14 persons were affected by the gale.
