Upcountry railroad blocked due to landslides

The Met department forecasts thunder showers in the Western Province and the Galle and Matara districts this morning.


Duty Meteorologist Jeevan Karunarathna stated that the showers will spread to other parts of the island in the evening.




Meanwhile, due to landslides the railway service along the up country railroad has been hindered. The department of Disaster Management stated that railway services between Ohiya and Idalgashinna have been completely halted due to landslides.
