A joint action plan from the Common wealth and the human rights commission.

The Commonwealth Secretariat and the Sri Lanka Human Rights Commission have reached several agreements with regard to building the country’s reconciliation and strengthening the activities of the country’s human rights commission.

Sri Lanka Human Rights Commission Chairman Dr. Prathibhaa Mahaanaamahewaa said that accordingly both institutions have reached a consensus to implement a special action plan .

The first phase of this is scheduled to be implemented within the next six months.

A special Sri Lanka human rights commission delegation participated in a special discussion at the London Commonwealth Secretariat from April 29th to May 3rd.

Reports say that this consensus was reached at this special discussion.
