The Disaster Management Centre urges the public to remain cautious in order to prevent accidents caused by lightning strikes as a high risk of lightning prevails during the approaching weeks.

Duty meteorologists Channa Rodrigo elaborating further said there is a turbulent situation in the atmosphere.
Meanwhile, The Disaster Management Centre said Some 479 families have been affected by flash floods in the Gampaha District.
According to the DMC, 81 families have been provided with accommodation in four evacuation centres by now.
