Police today revealed that Former Mayor of Colombo Asath Sally is being  held responsible over several chargers of embezzlement as well as grave breaches of confidence.

 

However Sally was arrested over a statement he had made to an Indian magazine against Sri Lanka.

 

Meanwhile Minister of justice Rauff Hakeem speaking in Vavuniya yesterday noted that police were yet to make a statement regarding chargers being held against Asath Sally.

 

Minister of Justice Rauff Hakeen as well as Police Media Spokepserson SP Buddhika Siriwardhna made the following observations with regards to Asath Sally during two separate media briefings which were held in Colombo today.

Speaking yesterday Minister of Justice Rauff Hakeem noted that Sally had been arrested due to hate politics.

 

Director of the Media Centre for National security Lakshman Hulugalle during a media briefing which was held in Colombo today filed replies to this observation.

Meanwhile Asath Sally has been readmitted to hospital yet again today & has been admitted to the 55th ward at the Colombo National Hospital according to a family member.
