Collection of funds for alms stalls to be sanctioned by Grama Seva officers

Permission from the Grama Seva Officer of the area and the Chief Monk of the nearest temple should be obtained before holding Vesak dansal this time.

Commissioner General of Buddhist Affairs Chandra Prema Gamage said that a circular in this regard has already been sent to all Divisional Secretaries throughout the country.

He said that the IGP was also informed in writing yesterday asking police assistance to hold dansel campaigns during this Vesak.

He also said that there are fraudsters collecting money in the name of Vesak Dansal but it is solely upto the people to donate or refuse contribution.
