The Sri Lanka Public Health Inspectors Association states that continuous spot checks are being carried out on alms stalls which have been organized in lieu of Vesak.
According to the associations Deputy Secretary C.S. Muthukuda 5599 alms stalls have been checked for their hygienic standards.
Meanwhile the police urges members of the public to adhere to road rules when arriving to witness Vesak celebrations.
According to Police Media Spokesperson SP Buddhika Siriwardhana the public are cautioned to remain vigilant regarding their children & goods.
