The Colombo Port’s Branch of the Sri Lanka Independent Workers Union states that it categorically refutes all allegations raised by the All Ceylon Port Common Workers Association with regards to the fire which erupted at the ports CFC cargo warehouse number 1.
Deputy Secretary of the Colombo Port’s Branch of the Sri Lanka Independent Workers Union Indika Mahesh speaking in this regard denied that flammable substances were stored at the ware house.
However the General Secretary of the All Ceylon Port Common Workers Association Chandrasiri Mahagamage speaking to our news team attributed the cause of the fire to flammable substances which he says was stored at the warehouse.
Meanwhile Deputy Secretary of the Colombo Port’s Branch of the Sri Lanka Independent Workers Union Indika Mahesh countered this notion in the following manner.
The fire at CFC warehouse number one of the Colombo Ports erupted during the wee hours of last Saturday.
A large quantity of goods ranging from electrical appliances to apparels was consumed in the fire.
According to Police Media Spokesperson SP Buddhika Siriwardhana the Government analysts report in this regard is expected shortly.
