Indian Defence Minister A.K Anthony states that the Sri Lankan military will not be given training in Tamil Nadu.
He said this after opening a new airbase in Thajavur.
We also queried Military Spokesperson Brigadier Ruwan Wanigasuriya with regard to the above statement.
Meanwhile M.D.M. Party leader Y. Gopaalaswaami alias Vaiko has said that a referendum should be held with regard to whether a separate State should be provided for the Tamil people in Sri Lanka or not.
Reports say that he had said so when expressing his views to Indian journalists.
However Senior Minister of Human Resources Dew Gunasekera said that it was more important to hold the Northern Provincial Council Election than to conduct a referendum.
