Trade unions have submitted a seven point series of proposals to the Health Ministry with regard to the way the Dengue disease should be eradicated.
All Island Health Services Union chairman Gamini Kumarasinghe said that the relevant series of proposals had by now been submitted to the Health Ministry Secretary.
Meanwhile the Health Ministry says that since the dengue disease has increased, all hospitals are ready for providing the necessary treatment.
Health Services Director General Dr. Paalitha Maheepaala said that steps had been taken to equip all hospitals with facilities for speedily obtaining blood samples.
The Epidemiology Division said that the dengue disease was spreading more in the Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara, Kandy, Ratnapura and Kegalle districts.
Meanwhile the Higher Education Ministry said that the postponed lectures and examinations of the Colombo University’s Law Faculty, Management Faculty and Arts Faculty would recommence from today.
