The SLMC has decided to abstain from voting when the resolution in support of the government decision to make changes to the 13th Amendment is presented in Eastern Provincial Council.
The Provincial Councils of the North Western, South, Uva, Sabaragamuwa and North Central have already passed this resolution brought in support of the government decision.
Meanwhile, The SLMC has decided to take disciplinary action against the two of its members who supported the resolution when it was taken for voting in the North Western Provincial Council.
The same resolution is scheduled to be moved in the Eastern, the Western and the Central Provincials Councils as well.
SLMC MP Aslam Mohamad said that his party will abstain from voting when the resolution is presented in the Western Provincial Council.
