The Department of Elections stated that 1200 internally displaced persons in the North have applied to be entered to the voter registration list.

These voters were not registered with the Department of Elections earlier, and the deadline to be registered anew in the additional voter registration list ends tomorrow.

726 persons have applied for re-registration of votes from the district of Vavuniya.

This is the highest number of voters applied for re-registration in the additional voter registration list in the North.

Internally displaced persons were given time to appeal until the 5th of July but this has now been extended until the 9th of July.
