No bus strike tonight; says Minster C B

Private Transport Minister C.B. Rathnayake said that all possible measures will be taken to stop the proposed private bus strike tonight.

Speaking to our news team, the Minister said that the government has already taken all steps to provide possible concessions to the private bus owners.

Southern Province Inter Transport Association stated that it would not participate in the proposed strike and Polonnaruwa Passenger Transport Company President W. Dayananda told our news team that his association will also not participate in the proposed strike tonight.

However President of the Lanka Private Bus Owners Association Gemunu Wijerathna said that the proposed strike will start tonight.
