Colombo District Parliamentarian R. Dumindha Silva says that he will ensure to bring justice to those who lose housing and property due to the construction of the new bridge proposed to be built parallel to the old kalani Bridge at Peliyagoda.
He also pointed out that he will take actions to provide the affected with housing in the proximity.
The Government has planned to build a new bridge over the Kelani River to link the Colombo Katunayake Express way and the Baseline Road.
The proposed 4 lane bridge which is estimated to be built at a cost of 45 billion rupees will ease the increasing traffic congestions in the area.
A meeting of the residents of Orugodawatta, Sedawatta and Navalokapura who would be affected due to the new construction was held at the Foundation Institute today.
During the meeting represented by Ports and Highways Minister Nirmala Kotalawala and Colombo District MP R. Dumindha Silva, the residents of the vulnerable areas asked several questions.
