The TNA nominated retired Supreme Court judge C.V. Wigneswaran today as its Chief Ministerial Candidate for the forthcoming Northern Provincial Council elections.

 

The crucial decision which was represented by all 5 allies of the TNA was taken at a lengthy discussion presided over by TNA leader R. Sampandan this morning.

 

Addressing a media briefing to announce the TNA Chief Ministerial Candidate, its leader R. Sampandan had this to say.

 

 

TNA leader MP R. Sampandan met President Mahinda Rajapaksa last week before his party began discussions to select a party Chief Ministerial candidate for the NPC polls.

 

Today, retired Supreme Court judge C.V. Wigneswaran was nominated for the Chief Ministerial candidacy.

 

When questioned regarding his candidacy and the proposed changes to the 13th Amendment during a telephone conversation with our news team the TNA Chief Ministerial Candidate for the Northern Provincial Council election C.V. Wigneswaran had his to say.

 

 

C.V. Wigneswaran is also a close family relative of National Languages and Social Integration Minister Wasudeva Nanayakkara.
