An experts’ forum was held in Colombo yesterday with regard to the media code of ethics organized by the Sri Lanka Mass Media Personnel Trade Union.

 

While experts including Government and Opposition politicians participated in it, lengthy discussion was held on this occasion with regard to media code of ethics.

 

National Trade Union Centre Chairman, former MP K. D. Laalkaantha expressing his views on the occasion stated as follows:

 

 

 

Mass Media and Information Minister Keheliya Rambukwella too participated in the forum.

 

Speaking on this occasion, the Minister said that the Government did not want to legalize media code of ethics.
