A case filed by 57 farmers demanding a pension was taken before the Human Rights Commission today.

The Commission decided to take the case for hearing in the absence of the respondents as the two respondents; the Director of Pensions and the Agriculture and Insurance Board did not appear for the case.

Our news team contacted Minister of Agriculture Mahinda Yapa Abeywardana to comment on the matter.

He told that he is ready to intervene in and solve the matter if there is any.
