The Geological Survey and Mines Bureau has begun investigations on the ground water contamination problem at Rathupaswala in Weliweriya.

 

The Bureau spokesman stated that its scientists collected soil samples from the area in order to start field research.

 

The Bureau’s President Senerath Jayasundera had this to say.
