Police looking for Aranayaka PS chairman

The Police has begun investigations to arrest the chairman of the Aranayaka Pradeshiya Sabha Dinesh Gunarathne.


The Aranayaka Police stated that an individual has been hospitalized after being injured following an assault by the PS chairman and a group of individuals and the investigation was initiated as a result of this.


The individual who was assaulted is currently receiving treatment in the 5th ward of the Kegalle Base Hospital.


Janak Kumara Edirisinghe who hails from the Aranayaka – Uduwela – Thuththiripitiya had come to the Thuththiripitiya junction day before yesterday with his wife in order to obtain treatment to an ailment.


Speaking to our news team Janak Kumara Edirisinghe who was assaulted stated that at the moment he arrived at the junction the double cab belonging to the PS chairman and a group including his driver was present.


Speaking further he stated that at that moment the PS chairman called him to that location and the chairman and his group proceeded to assaulted him.


Our news team inquired from the Aranayaka Pradeshiya Sabha chairman Dinesh Gunarathne regarding this.


In response to our queries he stated no such assault had taken place and that he had intervened to resolve an argument that took place between his driver and the person in question and then he and his driver left the location.
