The Tami Nadu fishermen’s union proposes to establish a free maritime zone between Sri lanka and India.

 

Chairman of the Union A G Boss states that such a zone will minimize conflicts between Sri lankan and India fishermen.

 

However, when we contacted deputy fisheries Minister Sarath Kumara Gunarathna stated that prior to discussions Indian fishermen must stop using trawlers for fishing.
