Assistant Superintendent of Hanthana estate remanded.

An Assistant Estate Superintendent of the Kandy Hantaana Estate has been remanded till 30th this month.


The police said that the Gangodawila Acting Magistrate issued this order after Assistant Estate Superintendant Thivanka Sameera Jaysingha was produced before him.


While another person too was arrested with the assistant estate superintendent concerned, he is in police custody on a detention order till 24th instant.


While they were arrested yesterday at the Western section of the Kandy Hantaana Estate, they had carried out several thefts in Navalapitiya and Galaha brandishing fire arms.


It had become clear to the police that they had stolen 2.7 million rupees at Nawalapitiya by brandishing firearms.


This assistant estate superintendent is a resident of Kadawatha.


The Mirihaana police said further that the other person was a resident of Walasmulla.
