President Mahinda Rajapaksa left for a 3 day official visit to Belarus today.
The President is scheduled to meet with his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko and will be joined by a group of Sri Lankan businessmen as well.
President Mahinda Rajapaksa will also participate at a business forum which will also be attended by the Prime Minister of Belarus Mikail Maiznikovic.
Agreements are to be signed on trade and economic corporation and also on corporation relating to combating criminal activities.
Belarus is the wealthiest of ex-soviet union countries.
The President on his way to the Bandaranayake International Airport had also inspected the construction work of the Colombo-Katunayaka expressway.
