Former permanent representative to the United Nations Dr. Dayan Jayathilaka states that there is a change in stance of the UN Human Rights commissioner Navaneedan Pillai regarding war crimes allegations levelled against Sri lanka.

 

Dr. Jayathilaka made this statement during an exclusive interview with our news team.

 

The high commissioner addressing a media briefing yesterday stated that if a proper internal investigation into alleged war crimes is not carried out, the call for an international investigation will continue.

 

She also expressed her views regarding certain statements made by Ministers during her visit.

 

She also stated that the implementation of the recommendations of the Lessons Learnt and Reconciliation Commission would open up doors for coexistence.
