The ministry of external affairs state that no Sri Lankan representatives will be taking part in the 24th United Nations Human Rights Council Session scheduled to begin on Monday.

Media Spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs Rodney Perera stated that the Sri Lankan representatives of the UN office in Geneva will be taking part in the session.

He also stated that this session is not important enough to warrant a team to be sent from Sri Lanka.

The 24th session of the UNHRC will be held from next Monday till the 27th of this month.

The opening remarks will be delivered by the UN Human Rights Commissioner Navi Pillay and an explanation regarding the programs initiated by the UN Human Rights office will be provided during this.
