Today is the second day for government servants to cast postal votes in the North, North West and Central Provincial council elections.

Those who fail to cast their vote even today can do so at the respective Election Offices of the 3 provinces on the 12th, 13th and 14th of this month.

The PAFFREL stated that postal voting is going successfully in the 3 provinces.

Meanwhile the closing date to apply for temporary identity cards has been extended by 5 more days from today to the 15th of this month.

Meanwhile the UNP accused that the election laws are blatantly violated during the current Provincial Council elections.

During a media briefing held in Colombo today, UNP Media Spokesman MP Gayantha Karunatilaka had this to say.

However Minister Dallas Alahapperuma told a UPFA media briefing held in Colombo today that the UNP has not actively involved yet in the election campaign.
