The Food Advisory Committee of the Health Ministry has decided to allow the products that contained Whey Protein to be sold in the market after it proved that these products were free of Clostridium Botulinum bacteria.
The committee had a discussion on the investigations on certain milk products with WPC-80 content on last Monday.
At the same time, the Committee has also decided to release all the stocks of milk products with Whey Protein, Strong Whey Protein and Whey Powder with effect from September 10th, if such products were taken into custody under the 1980 Food Act No.26.
Meanwhile the Health Ministry stated that it is no longer necessary to past the special label that read “No Clostridium Botulinum bacteria” on Whey Protein products.
The Health Ministry also stated that the samples of all imported milk varieties including the ones prescribed for children above the age of 1 will collected at the Customs for further testing.
