President Mahinda Rajapaksa is scheduled to have discussions with the UN Secretary General Ban ke-moon, Commonwealth Secretary General Kamalesh Sharma and several Heads of state of Asian and African countries during his 5-day tour in America.
President Rajapaksa left for the United States this morning to participate in the 68th United Nations Conference, which will inaugurate in New York on September 24th.
President Rajapaksa last addressed the UN conference in 2011.
During his stay in New York, the President will participate in a top political conference on earth development.
The President Spokesman and international media center stated that President Rajapaksa will host a dinner for African leaders in New York.
