Dayasiri Jayasekera who obtained the highest number of preferential votes in the history of PCs in Sri Lanka says that the UNP is subject to an avalanche.
Speaking at a media briefing in Kurunegala Jayasekera said that his total preferential votes outnumbers to that of the total votes obtained by all 37 UNP candidates contested the election for the Kurunegala district in the North Western Provincial Council election.
He also said that this election proved the people’s mandate could not be bought.
Dayasiri who came first in the Saturday’s PC election did not forget to express his views on media which carried reports on him during the election campaign.
He urged the media to contact him and verify the information with regard to him before they are put in print or on air in the future.
