A member of a robber gang was shot accidentally when his fellow robber shot another person who tried to apprehend them in front a private bank at Aluth Mawatha in Mutwal this afternoon.

The robber gang had snatched away 500 thousand rupees from a woman when she came by a three wheeler to deposit the money in a state bank.

Later the three wheel driver has given a chase after the robbers, and one of the robbers has shot the three wheel driver.

Police said that a shot by a robber has accidentally fired on one of his fellow robbers, and the suspect has been undertaken surgery after he was admitted to Colombo National Hospital.
