Today is world heart day.

World Heart Day is globally held on the last Sunday of September each year to inform people about cardio-vascular diseases, which are the biggest cause of death worldwide.


The event also aims to promote preventative measures that reduce the risk of cardio-vascular diseases.


8030 deaths are reported in Sri lanka annually due to heart attacks.


The health Ministry points out that 600 individuals are at risk of cardio-vascular deceases.
