The body of the Negombo St Mary’s College principal who died under mysterious circumstances was found in the washroom attached to his office this morning.
A senior police officer investigating the death said that there were 2 cut injuries in the victim’s body, one in his neck and the other in an ankle.
A small knife has also been found in the washroom, and police said that they cannot divulge the motive of the death until the post-mortem is conducted.
The victim had come to school 6 in the morning and he had been talking to a student until 7.20am.
Later a teacher had searched for him in the Office as he did not attend the morning assembly, and found him lying in the washroom with cut injuries.
However, a Negombo hospital spokesman said that the Principal had died on admission to the hospital.
The 60-year-old victim, Maxwell Fernando had served at the St.Mary’s College since 2003.
