Indian Premier Dr. Manmohan Singh says that his government is well aware of its stand on the 13th Amendment of Sri Lanka.
He was talking to journalists on board while returning to New Delhi after participating in the UN General Assembly held in New York.
He has told journalists that his government had officially informed the Sri Lankan government of its stand on the 13th Amendment.
Furthermore, Dr. Manmohan Singh reminded that officials of both countries had had diplomatic talks on the issue at several previous occasions as well.
When a journalist asked the Indian Premier why he did not have discussions with the Sri Lankan President, Dr. Manmohan Singh said although he expected to meet the Sri Lankan President, he could not meet him as the dates fixed for the meeting was not convenient to him.
He said that he arrived in New York only on the 27th and the meeting had been fixed between the 24th and 27th.
