The Tamil National Alliance states that the swearing in ceremony of the Northern Provincial Council ministers will take place on the 11th of this month.
The TNA also stated that the parties representing the TNA have agreed to announce the names of public representatives who will be appointed for the various provincial council portfolios on the 9th.
Internal sources stated that the parties representing the TNA have agreed to use a methodology which will be fair to all the parties concerned when appointing ministers for provincial council portfolios.
Several rounds of discussions were held between the leaders of the TNA regarding the distribution of provincial council portfolios amongst the parties representing the TNA and the last round of discussions were held yesterday evening.
Meanwhile, C. V. Wigneshwaran is scheduled to be sworn in as the Chief Minister of the Northern Province tomorrow before President Mahinda Rajapakse at Temple Trees.
Reports state that all the leaders of the TNA and party representatives have been invited for the occasions although certain leaders of the TNA are yet to confirm their participation.
Meanwhile, TELO, a party representing the TNA states that there should be justice when distributing ministerial portfolios in a similar way to which C. V. Wigneshwaran was given the Chief Ministerial Portfolio.
Former MP M. K. Sivajilingam stated that he will be vigilant regarding the decisions the chief minister takes with regard to ministerial portfolios.
