Two boys who had gone to pluck lotus flowers drowned in the Ampara  - Maha Oya  - Vila-thalaava tank last afternoon.

 

Dilshaan Prabhaath Kumaara and Anjana Priyashaantha, both aged 13 years faced thistrajic incident.

 

They were grade 8 pupils of the Iddapola Mahaa-vidyaalaya.

 

The police said that this accident had taken place as a result of these two children getting submerged in the mud when they attempted to pluck lotus flowers from the Vilathalaawa Tank for the Teacher Felicitation function scheduled to be held at the school today.
