A suspect in the Bambalapitiya businessman Mohammad Siyam murder case Dimuthu Hettiarachchi who was remanded on charges of harboring the main suspect of the case Ravindu Gunawardana was granted bail today.
After releasing the suspect on a 50,000 rupee cash and two five hundred thousand rupee personal bails, Colombo Additional Magistrate Mohammad Sahabdeen ordered the suspect to appear at the CID every other week and suspended suspect Dimuthu Hettiarachchi of all overseas travels.
Meanwhile 2 main suspects of this case Vass Gunawardana and son Ravindu Gunawardana were also produced before the Court today.
Prosecuting CID, ASP Shani Abeysekera informed the Court that the preliminary investigation report has already been submitted to the Attorney General but the indictment order has not yet been received.
Later the Additional Magistrate remanded the 6 suspects including Vass and Ravindu Gunawardana till the 4th of November.
Meanwhile the first suspect of the Mohammad Siyam murder case Mohammad Fauzideen was released on a 50,000 rupee cash and two five hundred thousand rupee personal bails when he was produced before Colombo High Court Judge Lalith Jayasundera today.
Earlier the Attorney General informed the Court that the first 2 suspects of this case Mohammad Fauzideen and Krishantha Koralage agreed to become state witnesses and they could be given conditional amnesty in return.
