Tamil Diaspora opposes CHOGM

It is reported that the British Tamils forum which has maintained ties with the LTTE held discussions with British Labour Party leader Ed Miliband.

The Diaspora has requested Britain to refrain from participating at CHOGM and had also presented a report to the Labour Party leader stating that human rights were violated in Sri Lanka.

British Labour Party leader Ed Miliband had stated that an international inquiry was required in to the matter.

However, Army Spokesperson Brigadier Ruwan Wanigasooriya stated that Sri Lanka has initiated a proper methodology to look in to those reported missing as a result of the conflict.

Meanwhile, Channel 4 reported that 2 protests were held at London’s Parliament square demanding that Britain boycotts CHOGM in Sri Lanka.

Around 200 protesters had participated at the protest.
